3 Types Of Wool

SnugSleep™ Products

The perfect wool for the best night’s sleep

At SnugSleep™, we care about our clients and their sleeps. This is why we provide most of our products with three different wool options: classic pure, heritage organic or washable.

SnugSleep™ Products Are Available in 3 Types of Wool

Organic Wool SnugSleep

Heritage Organic Wool

Our Heritage Organic Wool comes from 100% British GOTS Certified organic wool for a comfortable and luxurious experience.

Our organic wool is complimented by our beautiful sateen organic cotton covers with a 260 thread count. The thread count not only complements the wool function but also allows airflow, and longevity and prevents felting. This soft silky cotton comes certified by GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standards) and was grown and picked in Turkey.

Classic Wool SnugSleep

Classic Pure Wool

Our original Classic Pure Wool product is sourced from Pure English wool and threaded with a natural 200-count percale cotton cover.

Pure wool is a natural protein fibre that is crimped, elastic and springy. It’s ideal for those looking for a natural way to regulate their body temperature as it provides insulation in winter and breathes in summer.

Washable Wool SnugSleep

Washable Wool

Our washable wool is filled with genuine SuperWash* wool and can be easily machine laundered. Our SuperWash* wool uses the “Hercosett 125” shrink-proofing process to allow laundering. The washable wool is a convenient option that offers all of the same features as our classic but can be machine-washed.

We choose not to apply additional chemical fresheners to keep our wool as natural as possible.

*SuperWash wool is natural wool that goes through a chlorine wash and is coated with a polymer, which makes it washable.

Why Wool As Our Primary Material?

Organic and Pure Wools are entirely natural and biodegradable fibres (note that washable wool isn’t biodegradable). It’s also a renewable resource, as sheep produce new wool yearly.

Wool is also one of the most thermally efficient fibres, providing excellent insulation. In fact, it’s been used for centuries as a material for clothing and bedding, as it’s able to keep you warm in winter and cool in summer.

As well as being an excellent insulator, wool is also moisture-wicking, which helps draw sweat and moisture away from your body. This can improve sleep quality as it helps to regulate your body temperature.

Wool is also an excellent flame retardant material as it has a high ignition temperature. This means it’s much less likely to catch fire and will self-extinguish if it does come into contact with a naked flame.

Finally, wool is naturally hypoallergenic and dust mite resistant, making it an ideal material for those with allergies or asthma.
